Sunoku · Last updated October 23, 2026
The short version: Sunoku has no accounts, no ads and no tracking. It never asks for your name, contacts, photos or precise location, and asks for an email address only if you contact us and want a reply. It sends anonymous gameplay statistics so the puzzles' difficulty can be tuned, and your daily times if you take part in the leaderboards.
What stays on your device
Your progress, settings, badges and rewards are saved on your device. If you delete the app, they are deleted with it.
What is sent
- Anonymous gameplay statistics: for each puzzle you play, whether you solved it, how long it took, mistakes, hints used and restarts, plus badges earned, rewards in use and which days and times of day you play. This is how difficulty ratings are checked against real play.
- A random install ID: a number made up on your device the first time you play. It is not linked to you, your Apple ID or your device's advertising identifier, unless you contact us with your email address and include your game stats (see below).
- Basic device information: screen size and pixel density, the operating system, and the device's speed on a short benchmark (used to estimate how long the Level Builder will take).
- Country: a country code worked out by our host from your connection. Your IP address is not stored.
- Leaderboards: when you finish a Daily Challenge or a Friday First to Fifty run, your moves and time are sent so they can be checked and ranked, along with the leaderboard name you chose. That name is shown publicly on the leaderboard, so don't use your real name unless you want to.
If you contact us
The contact form keeps what you send: your message, your email address if you give one, and the type of device you're using (for example, iPhone app, iOS 26, and screen size). Your game stats aren't tied to you unless you contact us with your email address and leave Include my game stats ticked. Then your message carries your install ID, so we can look at your play to understand what you've told us. We use none of this for anything else. Once we've dealt with your message, we delete your email address and install ID from it, so it is no longer tied to you.
What isn't collected
No name, phone number, contacts, photos, precise location, advertising identifier or browsing history, and no email address except one you choose to give in the contact form. Sunoku uses no advertising or analytics companies' code, and the data is never sold or shared for advertising.
Where it is kept
Statistics, leaderboard entries and contact messages are stored with the services that run the game's server, Netlify and Supabase, and are used only to run the leaderboards, answer messages and improve the puzzles.
Children
Sunoku is suitable for all ages and asks no one for personal information, including children. The only personal information it can receive is an email address someone chooses to give in the contact form.
Removing your data
To have your leaderboard entries, statistics or a message you sent us removed, send a request through the support page with your leaderboard name, and we'll delete them.
Changes
If what Sunoku collects changes, this page will be updated and the date above will change.
